Story:
It started on Sunday the 24th....Let me back up. I had stood in line all night on Saturday for the local pumpkin walk. Kind of a tradition. Didn't have any issues I was actually feeling really good and had a bit of energy. We were in line for like 2 hours. It was great. Went home and went to bed. Sunday rolled around and I hadn't slept real good. But I felt like I had to go potty a lot. Which we all know is normal. I had felt a bet more liquid than normal and didn't think anything of that either. Normal Sunday church, dessert night, and home to bed. But the leakage was getting progressively more and more. I went to bed and was having really strage dreams. Again not un-normal. But at about 4 am I woke up and literally ran to the bathroom. I thought my water had broke in bed but apparently it was just in my dream, but right as I got to the potty a huge gushing feeling happened. I knew my water had broke. YAHOO!! I had never felt that naturally it was much better than the alternative. So I woke up Brandon who asked me if I was sure my water had broke. I said yes but I wasn't having any contractions. So I actually went back to bed for a bit. I think it was around 6 or so we called my mom and told her it was time and that we were dropping off Wes and heading to the hospital. And that we did. I still wasn't having any contractions. They admitted me and started my on patosine. Which brought on the contractions. I walked the hospital floor for awhile, in circles it got old really fast. And didn't really increase the contractions at all. I ate lots of popcycles and ice. I drew on the little chalk board they had. I was pretty bored and the contractions weren't bad at all. In fact Brandon would give my a hard time because I would sort of laugh when I got them, hey it helped me breath. Well finally the nurse came in I wasn't progressing real fast I think I sat at a 4 for quite a long time. The nurses were so nice, until she came in to inform me that my Dr., who swore to me that he would be there and would not let anything happen to me, was out of town!!!! AAAAAHHHHH!!!! I wanted to die. "This is not part of my plan":) What plan well that was the only plan I had planned on. The nurses told me they would try to get ahold of him, and they did try alllllll day! I was getting ready at about a 6 when the nurse came in and told me Dr. Housel was in Southern Utah and on his way home. And the procceeded to ask me if I could hold off?!?! Are you kidding me?? I will try my best? She said it would be 3-4 hours before he got there. So they stopped my pitosone and I sat and slept. Around 6o'clock the dr. said he was about 1/2 hours away. wahoo.... So they started me back up and I waited a little longer and the contractions were getting stronger. I waited as long as I could. Then I got the Epidural. It wasn't the best one I have ever had but it worked all right. I could definitely feel baby crowning. It was very painful. I think I pushed 3 good pushes and out Baby Christensen came. We had a skin on skin moment and it really was a special moment, I was feeling so blessed like no one else was in the room. It was really amazing. I remember feeling similar when I had Wes but this was different. Brandon later asked me about the conversation he was having with the Dr. and I can honestly say I had no idea what was said to this day. Baby Christensen had no name for nearly 2 weeks after he was born. I could not decide between William and Owen. I felt strong about them both. We finally decide since Wes was a family name we would keep it in the family. We named him after my Great Grandpa William Wright. We are so greatful to have Willaim in our lives and can not describe the huge blessing that this little bundle of joy has brought to us so far!! We Love you Will and are so excited to have you with us!
